I am a firm believer in the idea that your mind can either be your greatest enemy or your best supporter. One can either allow their mind to tear them apart or lead them to greatness. Which one describes you?
How often do you hear of someone setting a goal for themself? “I’m going to start going to the gym because I want to lose 10 pounds.”- But how many of these people actually stick their plan. We often go in a with strong start and then allow our selves to gradually slack off, making various excuses about why we couldn’t reach our goal. Too busy, too hard, unexpected things getting in the way- there are endless excuses. But what is the real reason?
Naturally, humans are afraid of failure. A person’s- including myself- greatest fear is putting in the work and then not coming out on top. So to steer clear of this, we often just avoid the situation all together. So it’s not always that we are lazy, one just wants to avoid defeat.
Although it is easier to create excuses for yourself as to why you cannot achieve something, why not be different? Why not be the one who decides they are worthy of achieving something greater. It is your job to tell your mind what you are capable of, not your mind ordering you around. People are much more able then they give themselves credit for; often because one has never lived up to their full potential.
